Hamilton based Wilson Aviation Ltd announces sale of state-of-the-art Viper SD 4 training aircraft to Wanganui Aero club. The aircraft scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2014 will be one
of the highest spec light sport aircraft in the country including aircraft
collision avoidance system, ballistic parachute rescue system and a full
glass cockpit with terrain avoidance and autopilot. The Viper SD4 received Type Acceptance from the New Zealand CAA on Thursday. Examples of the type are now eligible to be issued with a New Zealand airworthiness certificate in the Special category LSA, which means upon obtaining a certificate the aircraft can be used for flight training.
Vice president of the Wanganui Aero clubHoward Smith said "the Viper SD
4's low operating cost and affordable purchase price made it stand out from
the rest . We also needed to offer our students who are aspiring to
commence a career in the airlines with a technologically advanced trainer
including a glass cockpit the Viper does this and more."
